Education re-designed with heart
Education re-designed with heart
I wanted to create something for my children that actually works. For teens who don’t thrive in traditional mainstream systems and for the parents walking beside them who are trying to get it right without burning out. The Create Approach isn’t just a name (thought of as we were driving down the motorway once). It’s a method. It originally stood for Curriculum Remapping, Education And Training Empowerment (which I guess it still does in a way...).
Every session, study pack and mentoring tool I'm building is built using the CREATE Approach Framework. A flexible model that honours curiosity, emotional wellbeing and meaningful progress.
The CREATE Approach Framework is the foundation behind everything I design . From study sessions to mentoring tools. It brings together my training in teaching, my experience in alternative provision and the personal journey of walking this path with my own teens.
I crafted this framework to blend academic structure with emotional intelligence so that teens can learn in ways that feel safe, meaningful and flexible. It’s not just about what they need to learn. It’s about how they’re able to learn, today.
The Create Approach is a carefully designed learning ecosystem for teenagers and their families built with structure, creativity, and emotional safety in mind. I created this for families like mine: navigating home education with teens who’ve stepped away from school because their wellbeing had to come first. What (I believe) makes this different?:
🌀 Trauma-aware design
Every session is built to honour nervous system needs and emotional overwhelm , not ignore them.
🌱 Flexible structure
Learning doesn’t always happen in straight lines. This approach gives enough scaffolding to feel safe, but enough space to adapt.
🎨 Creative expression
Sessions invite drawing, voice notes, metaphors, movement because not all learning fits into boxes.
💛 Built from lived experience
I’m not offering this as a theory. I’m walking it. As a home educating mum, a mentor and a designer of alternative pathways.
📚 Focused on real progress
It’s not about ticking off tasks, it’s about helping teens learn in ways that make sense to them.
🧭 The CREATE Framework
Curiosity. Research. Experiment. Apply. Think Differently. Evolve. This is the foundation that holds it all together, blending academic growth with emotional safety.
I always start with a spark — a question, an insight, or a “why does this matter?” moment because I believe learning starts not with pressure, but with purpose.
I guide teens to explore ideas, not just memorise them. Instead of dumping content, I use diagrams, prompts and step-by-step breakdowns to help them process and pause.
Every session includes creative entry points: drawing, voice-noting, bullet journaling, or freewriting because not every brain learns best through writing alone and every teen deserves a way to show what they know in their own way.
I build in practical application that goes beyond the page. From exam strategies to real-life scenarios. This is where meaning sticks and confidence builds.
I encourage original thought, personal insights and gentle challenge. Whether through open-ended prompts or visual metaphors this is where deeper thinking happens, without pressure or perfectionism.
Every resource I design includes space for reflection and growth because I believe progress isn’t a tick box, it’s a journey and sometimes the biggest growth comes in the quietest ways.
